St Andrews Stands with Ukraine_Images

Good evening,

It’s nearing the end of the week, and I thought I’d share images from the event on Wednesday which I introduced, St Andrews Stands with Ukraine.

What an extraordinary sky.  And indeed, as we walked back into town afterwards, sharp hailstones slanted across us, turning the Old Course white.

The whole event was a moving affirmation by over a thousand people that Ukraine is not forgotten and that people, freedom and hope matter.

Here is the University’s video of the event with marvellous images from above.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnFalJOSyLs&t=3s

This Sunday I am so pleased to be able to welcome as our guest preacher at the service Revd Dr Fiona Douglas, Chaplain to Dundee University, and a great colleague and friend.  She’s be speaking of the Costliness of Love.  And although I don’t know what she’ll say, it’s a phrase which encapsulates so much of what we’ve seen and heard from Ukraine recently.  We’ll also hear the Chapel Choir sing one of the most beautiful pieces of choral music, Crucifixus á 8, by Lotti.  All are welcome at St Salvator’s Chapel, at 11 am, regardless of faith or philosophy of life.

Yours,
Donald.
