‘Events this week’

Good afternoon,

I hope your weekend is going well, whether you have been catching up on sleep, studying in the library, watching a film at the Byre, playing sport, walking on the beach, or doing something else which we can do. I am writing to confirm that tomorrow’s Chapel service will go ahead, at St Salvator’s Chapel at 11 am on Sunday. As I write I see there are still two spaces available of the 50 total which can be reserved. Let me also say that following the service I will be conducting a brief service of Holy Communion, for which you are welcome to stay if you wish.

Tomorrow’s online service will be at 5 pm (we’ve moved this from 2 pm for the time being) – here is the link Join Microsoft Teams Meeting

And we can do some events next week in person – Hearts of Light on Tuesday at 5.15 pm in St Salvator’s Quad, Simply Quiet in the Chaplaincy on Wednesday at 12.30 pm, Compline at St Salvator’s Chapel on Thursday at 10 pm (you can already reserve a space online for that).

Muslim Friday Prayers have now re-started in person. And there will be in-person events for Jewish people over coming days for Yom Kippur. Gradually we are finding our way back, if we can, into a life together in three dimensions rather than on flat screens, which is good.

Meanwhile Morning Prayers, Turning Pages, Ministry Discernment Group, Visiting Days and Thinking Allowed will be taking place online, a gift of technology.

If you are fasting on Yom Kippur, I wish you an easy fast; and a Yom Tov to all. And here is an image borrowed from the newsletter of the Council of Christians and Jews:

Take care,

Yours,

Donald.
