‘Sunday 30 January – reminders’

Linda Bongiorno
Monday 1 February 2021

Good evening,

It has been another beautiful day, and I enjoyed a long walk with a friend and four-footed companion.  Towards the end with the sun starting to go down, I took these two pictures:

For ten years I took services in the ruined church, although I should add it was already roofless before I began that role.  Does anyone recognise it?

Tomorrow (Sunday 30 January) we will be livestreaming from the roofed and unruined St Salvator’s Chapel, from 11 am.  There will be live music by Wilby and Stanford, the next addition to the Tree of Hope, the blessing of candles for the semester, and a sermon called Candlemas Opportunity from the Chaplain to Edinburgh University, Revd Dr Harriet Harris MBE.  Last week’s service has had 138 views – which makes us feel it is more than worthwhile to offer worship in this way.  Tomorrow’s will be accessible by going online to this page https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/community/worship/  then clicking on Livestreamed Services.

Let me also say that I’ll be on the Chaplaincy stall in the online Refreshers Fayre tomorrow (30 January), an opportunity to discover what a huge number of student societies and University units can offer students this semester, including the Chaplaincy.  Feel free to come and say hello to me and any honorary chaplains also in our stall.  It’s from 3-4 pm.

With all good wishes for the rest of the weekend.  Take care,

Yours,

Donald.

Revd Dr Donald MacEwan

Chaplain
