Book Launch ‘God is Green: Christianity and the Environment’

Good morning,

A quick reminder that this evening (Wednesday 13 October) we have the opportunity of hearing from Ian Bradley about his new book, God is Green: Christianity and the Environment.  This excellent and concise paperback explores God and creation through an ecological lens, focussing on scripture and always aware of our contemporary context of climate change, pollution and loss of biodiversity.  It’s written with Ian’s usual verve and breadth of cultural reference, revising an earlier edition of over thirty years ago.  If you’d like to hear more, come this evening to the Chaplaincy, at 7.30 where we’ll meet in the room downstairs on the left called Lochnagar.  There is no need to register in advance, but face coverings will need to be worn, unless you are exempt.  The event is free, but Ian tells me he will be bringing along copies of the book which are available “at a discount.”

Here is Ian with the machair on Iona behind him, when we were both on the island earlier this year.

And – while I’m writing – today St Salvator’s Chapel Choir are giving a concert at the Laidlaw Music Centre at 1.10 pm as part of the Voices Festival.  There may still be tickets – check online.

Yours,
Donald
