Good morning…

… on the shortest day of 2023, the winter solstice.  Over recent years, the Chaplaincy and in particular our honorary Pagan Chaplain, Kitty Macintyre, has organised a labyrinth of light in the Spanish Gardens by Castlecliffe, current home of Economics & Finance.  Originally candlelit, these labyrinths have welcomed hundreds of adults, teenagers and children, and a number of four-legged friends.  Slowly walking the path of light on the longest night, people enjoy the journey, the changing view of the night-time landscape and sky, and have time to reflect on what has been, and what will be.  This evening we offer a labyrinth again, this year lit by solar energy.  All are welcome to come and walk it between 4.30 and 8.30 pm.  Access is through the Economics & Finance car park.  Thank you to Kitty for sending the picture below.

Longest night of stars,
twinkling labyrinth of light
in the dark – pinpricks

Yours,
Donald.
