Holy Week

Good morning,

We are in Holy Week, when Christians recall the events around Jesus’ last days and nights before his death.  The Chaplaincy is offering a pilgrimage through the week, with a service each evening from tonight until Friday, known as Good Friday.  All are welcome to as many of these as you would like to attend, which will involve a wide range of participants.  Four different choirs and a number of organists will lead music, including beautiful choral reflections on the Passion of Jesus.  Three members of the Ministry Discernment Group will lead services of Compline.  Four chaplains will offer brief addresses.  And any student, member of staff, alumni, member of the community or visitor is welcome to come, regardless of faith or philosophy of life.  Our theme is Images of Jesus – drawing on the wonderful stained glass and mosaics in St Salvator’s Chapel – to give us a collective experience of Christ found in scripture and 20th century depictions, for our 21st century lives and world.  Booklets of the images will be available at each service.  Here are details of the services, alongside ecumenical events and Easter celebrations.
